Special Educational Needs

Our aim is "To promote successful inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities" As found in our SEN Information Report.

On this page, you will find links to important guidance and policies associated with SEN.  Following on from the SEND Code of Practice of September 2014, it has been necessary to create a dedicated space for SEN at Stuart Bathurst, where we can show what we provide as a school.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Department is committed to breaking down any barriers that might prevent a student fully accessing their education at Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School. We are focused on high quality outcomes for all learners, and achievement and inclusion are the cornerstones of our practice. The department is led by Ms Rashford (SENDCo) and the SEND Governor is Sean McKay.

The SEND department work with other professionals, both from within school and from external agencies, to support students with their learning; social, emotional and mental health; speech, language and communication difficulties as well as their sensory and physical needs, in order to enable those students to access the curriculum and progress with both their academic and social development.
