Geography

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page"
Saint Augustine

Our shared vision in Geography is that we believe our students should understand how the world they live in has changed over time and the impact that key processes have had to shape our planet. Our diverse curriculum focuses on a range of topics relating to both human and physical geography, whereby all of our young people will have the opportunity to explore contemporary issues which will affect them throughout their lives with an emphasis on their personal exploration of the Earth.

Each KS3 unit has been created to link directly to the AQA GCSE course taught in Years 10-11, with both global and UK based human and physical Geography, enquiry questions and geographical skills. As we move into a knowledge engaged curriculum, homework will be set on knowledge organisers and self-quizzing at KS3 and with additional exam questions each week for KS4. The GCSE course is designed for students to understand and apply new skills for exam success, including literacy, mathematical and decision-making skills.
