Curriculum Intent
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
At Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School, we strive to nurture students' spiritual and moral development, deeply rooted in our mission to serve one another in alignment with Christ’s teachings. Inspired by Matthew 28:19-20, our mission encourages students to grow as thoughtful and compassionate individuals who contribute meaningfully to their communities and the wider world. We believe that each student, irrespective of background or circumstances, deserves an outstanding education that equips them with the qualifications and character to pursue their aspirations.
Our curriculum is carefully crafted to be inclusive and fully compliant with the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Regulations 2014, ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), have equal access to education. In line with the Equality Act, we work to remove any barriers that could hinder a student's experience or success based on protected characteristics, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment. To support SEND students, we implement reasonable adjustments, including individualised learning strategies, resources, and adaptations to the physical environment, ensuring all students can participate fully in school life.
We create personalised support plans for students with identified needs, and our dedicated SEND team collaborates closely with teachers to continually monitor and adapt these plans. This enables us to ensure each student’s progress and well-being. By equipping our staff with the training and resources needed to support diverse learning needs, we create an inclusive and empowering educational experience for all.
Our curriculum fosters curiosity and resilience, emphasising the value of effort and perseverance. By creating a supportive environment, we help students develop a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. At the heart of our school is a commitment to inspiring a lifelong passion for learning.
To achieve this vision, we provide a robust and thoughtfully sequenced curriculum, guided by experienced educators who are experts in their subjects. We are committed to cultivating students who think, speak, read, and write like scholars, preparing them to excel academically and intellectually. Through this dedication, we aim for our students to embody the values and spirit of Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School, empowered to make a positive impact in the world.
